Play the Game: Reality Check

Online Safety Film Festival

Summary:  Lots of teenagers post and share information about themselves – and others – on social media. But in a world where “oversharing” might seem normal, it’s important to think about our digital footprints -- the things we leave behind online. In this video, you'll hear what teens have to say about sharing on social media, and you can think critically about the decisions you're making any time you post something online.

Summary:  When a group of high-school friends posts an online rumour about a rival, it sparks a chain reaction that leaves no one untouched. Cyberbullying, sexting, filmed fights and police action ensue. Will these friends be Tagged forever?

Developed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority's Cybersmart program, Tagged is a short film for teenagers that encourages students to discuss the core ethical obligations of going online. It explores issues like the widespread impact of cyberbullying, how internet users can manage their digital reputation and how online interactions may have real-life consequences.

Summary:  Based on real life experiences, Connected is a short film exploring how young people communicate and connect online. The film encourages young people to reflect on why their actions matter and the impact it can have on others. We shape the internet everyday with our interactions. You can play a part in creating a better, connected online world.
