OLMC Guides: Romance

Welcome to the Catherine McAuley Library

Romance Books in the library

What makes a book a Romance?

"In order for a book to be considered a Romance novel, it must have two things: the main focus of the story must be on the romantic relationships between the book's two protagonists, and the book must have a happily optimistic, emotionally satisfying ending."

         Genreflecting 7th Ed.

There is often a lot of overlap between romance and other genres.
